Creating improved regional education by increasing funding to Universities, TAFEs and Technical Colleges
Regional education institutions to receive drastically increased funding- Establish on-line training in small towns to overcome distance and travel
Country people deserve the same opportunities as those who live in Melbourne – and education should be no different. ‘
We propose introducing legislation to provide an even education opportunity between Melbourne and regional institutions. This will help with the drain of young country people to Melbourne and create more employment through increased service provision. It will also encourage people studying at the institutions to stay and create businesses locally.
Part of this funding restructure would be supporting education providers to increase education opportunities, such as establishing on-line education in all small towns to enable training in areas where location makes this difficult.
